Oak 5 2018 - 2019

Mr Nicholson

Welcome to the Oak 5 class page!
The adults who work in this class are our class teacher            Mr Nicholson and our ETA Mrs Turver.

Welcome back after what I hope has been a relaxing half term for you all! This will be our last term together so we need to make every second count. It is now more important than ever to ensure homework is complete and we read 3 times each week. We have so many wonderful activities planned so be sure to keep checking our class page for the most up to date information.

In Oak 5 we enjoy exploring all areas of the curriculum through creative and challenging lessons. We have promised to try our best within every lesson and work by our core values of Justice, Peace, Endurance, Friendship and Compassion. We believe in Oak 5 that if we work hard, are committed and show respect we can achieve anything.

We have also promised to share a smile with as many people as we can each day. We have many fantastic activities planned this year so please keep checking our class page to see what we are getting up to.

Key information

PE- Every Wednesday  we have PE. For this, children need to have correct school kit including indoor  footwear. No watches or jewellery will be allowed during PE times. The indoor PE kit consists of black shorts, white T-shirt and black pumps and the outdoor PE kit consists of blue/black tracksuit bottoms a jumper and pumps. We recommend that the PE kit comes in on Monday and the children take it home on a Friday.

Homework is handed out on a Friday and must be returned by the following Wednesday. Each week the children will recieve a piece of English and Maths homework. Weekly spellings will be handed out on a Friday. Please encourage your child to learn the different spelling patterns by practising them regularly, ready for the spelling test on the following Friday. (Each spelling pattern will be taught over the course of two weeks). This home work will also run alongside continuous home reading. Children are required to read 3 time so per week and reading logs signed by an adult. Reading logs will be checked every Monday to ensure every child has read.

All children will need their swimming kit on a Friday
