Dementia Friends

Currently, our school are on a journey to becoming Dementia Freindly. At present, we are delivering dementia awareness sessions with the children, which form a small part of our PSHCE curriculum. So far the children have thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of these sessions and are always eager to discuss and learn more.

In addition to these fantastic sessions, we will be trying to connect with different care homes in our local community to help and support those with dementia, which I know the children are incedibly excited about.

On this page we will be posting all the exciting news and activities around our persuit in becoming a Dementia Freindly school. We hope that this journey will educate our children in becoming a dementia freindly generation whilst also bringing our local community together in order to support those with Dementia.

Activities we have been getting up to

We are currently working incredibly hard within school towards becoming dementia friendly. All of the children have completed a range of activities including creating posters around school, drama sessions and much more. Throughout the sessions all of our children have shown fantastic empathy toward others, which is testament to the amazing children we have here at Bywell. Just check out some of the work we have been getting up to.
