Lesson: History

Class: Willow 4 Year: 2018 - 2019

First we designed and then made a Viking brooch. Brooches were used to keep your cloak on. The men would always pin their cloak on the left shoulder so they could easily draw their weapon. Brooches were a good way of showing how rich you were- the bigger and shinier your brooch, the richer you were !e made our own Viking brooch. Vikings would use a brooch to pin their cloak around them. Men would always pin their cloak on their left shoulder so that they could easily pull their sword out in a battle. Brooches were a really good way of showing how rich you were- the bigger and shinier your brooch, the richer you were!
